First Day: Adventurous Day

Today we begin our journey across Estonia, starting off with the capital city, Tallinn. The day started with the official opening ceremony of the exchange at the Kriistine noortekeskus building, where we played icebreakers - learning each other's names, where we're coming from, and how to play 'jänku'. We also had the chance to express our goals, fears, and expectations for the upcoming program, and to get a sneak peak of what we'll be doing in the upcoming days.

Afterwards, we stopped for lunch at the Kohvik Kohalik, enjoying the delicious food and the wonderful ambience - as well as the chance to get to know each other a little better.

We then learned about the public transport as we used our new Ühiskaart to race to Nõmme, where we got the chance to spend the late afternoon at the adventure park.  We attempted to maneuver through the tricky obstacle courses in the trees, managing to zipline back to safety just in time to jump back on the bus in order to make it to dinner.

After another lovely meal at Kohvik Kohalik, some of us managed to take an unplanned detour on the way back to our apartment, ending up in a bit of a rough spot. We spent the rest of the evening preparing a list of ingredients for our Estonian dinner tomorrow. Those of us who live abroad got our first taste of the Estonian sauna, relaxing in our apartment after a long and physically exhausting day.
